Services and Products We Offer
Farm Animals and Large Petting Zoo
At Gust Brothers, we take pride in our farm animals. Visitors will have the opportunity to journey through our beautiful, historic, gambrel-roofed barn and see real farm animals and how they live. On farm, we offer displays of pigs and baby pigs, cows and calves, sheep, goats, kittens, bunnies, as well as chickens and baby chicks.
School Tours
School tours are available on weekdays. Included in a school tour are a tour of the farm and animals, a hayride, and time to eat a snack in our snack barn (donut and cider included for extra). During the school tour, participants also get to pick a small pumpkin to take home. Tours are a perfect opportunity for the preschool to 1st grade student to learn about what farmers do and to have fun while doing it. Tours are approximately one hour. The cost is $6 per person if you include a donut and cider. Call Terese to schedule an appointment at 517-486-2237.
Hayrides
Hayrides are available Friday through Sunday from 11 am until 5 pm. Approximately 20 minutes in length, hayrides give customers a chance to enjoy a beautiful autumn day and to take a ride around the farm with their family. The cost is $2.50 per person. Tickets for hayrides can be purchased at the market.
Refreshments
Refreshments are available daily. Refreshments include home-made cinnamon-sugar, frosted, or plain pumpkin spice or apple cinnamon donuts. These delicious donuts are made daily in our small bakery. We also offer apple cider, cookies, pop, water, caramel corn, caramel apples, and candy. New in 2018, we introduced our apple cider slushies, which were a huge hit! Seating is provided at Gust Brothers in our snack barn, which we built in 2008. We also have auxiliary tent space for seating.
**All foods are free of peanuts and tree nuts. We also use a trans-fat free oil when cooking donuts.

Pumpkins
We offer a wide variety of pumpkins in all different shapes and sizes. We plant over fifteen varieties of pumpkins, each has its own size, shape, color, and stem characteristics. Our pumpkins start with miniature pumpkins on the small end. These weigh as little as a few ounces. On the large end, Dill's Atlantic Giant Pumpkins (actually a squash) could weigh as much as 1000 pounds. Here at Gust Brothers, you have the option of picking your own in the field, or going to the front yard and pulling one out of a row or box.
Pre-picked and You-Pick Vegetables
Gust Brothers offers a wide variety of produce. At Gust Bros., you'll find bins and bins of winter squash including varieties like Acorn, Butternut, Blue Hubbard, Carnival, Buttercup, Turks Turban, Cushaw, and Spaghetti squash.
Other vegetables grown and sold at Gust Brothers include tomatoes, peppers, onions, green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, eggplant, brussels sprouts, summer squash, zucchini, cucumbers, radishes, turnips, lettuce, spinach, kale, beets, carrots, sweet potatoes, and potatoes. There are multiple varieties of tomatoes, peppers, and potatoes to choose from.
Farm visitors are encouraged to journey into the you-pick vegetable field with their kids and peck basket in hand to experience what it is like to pick their own local, farm fresh produce.

Cut Your Own Flowers/Build Your Own Flower Bouquet
Added in 2015, we offer our visitors the chance to cut their own flowers and to build their own flower bouquet. Over 50 different varieties of flowers are available to cut and mix. Mason jars, water, scissors, and other plant material is provided to our visitors so they can create their own masterpiece to take home.
Soy Candles
Gust Brothers has sold soy candles since the early 2000's. The wax in soy candles is processed from the soybean. It burns cleaner than paraffin wax, gives off less heat, and still leaves your home or office with that pleasant aroma. Soy candles come in a wide variety of scents including buttery pumpkin pie, hot apple cider, sweet potato brown sugar, spiced cranberry, mulled cider, apple butter caramel, french vanilla, and a whole lot more!
Corn Shocks
In the picture to the right, the Gust Brothers are bundling corn shocks in a field. Corn Shocks are an old favorite here at Gust Brothers. They are mature corn plants, cut at the base, and bundled into shocks of 12 to 15 plants. Depending on the year, the average shock could be anywhere from 6 to 9 feet tall. Shocks make for great decorations and accentuate any decor nicely.
Straw Bales
Straw bales are made by baling the wheat stalks after they are run through a combine and put into rows. They make for great animal bedding but do a nice job as a base of any autumn display. Straw bales are sold as large bales and smaller bales, as shown on the left.
Gourds
Ornamental gourds were one of the first items we began selling here at Gust Brothers. Pictured to the right is a bin full of varied ornamental gourds. They add color and variety. Gourds grow like a pumpkin plant, vine out, and the fruit they produce is small and hard. Other varieties of gourds include large swan gourds and apple gourds.
Hardy Fall Chrysanthemums
Chrysanthemums sold at Gust Brothers are also produced on the farm. They are planted in the spring into pots and their beautiful colors are ready to harvest in the fall. Light up your display with a variety of colorful mums!
Apples
We sell a variety of apples here at Gust Brothers. These varieties include Red and Golden Delicious, Gala, Jonathan, and Macintosh. These apples are grown at a local orchard, each having its own special flavor and use.
Indian Corn
Indian Corn is a relative of the dent corn that cows eat or even the sweet corn that humans eat. The colorful variations have been used in decorating for hundreds of years. Gust Brothers has produced and sold Indian Corn since its beginning in 1989.
Broom Corn, Wheat and Oat Sheaves
Gust Brothers started bundling broom corn in 2010. These colorful decorations can be found growing on the top of the broom corn plant, where the tassel would be located in other varieties of corn. Pictured at the right is broom corn. In 2009, we began selling wheat and oat sheaves. These mature wheat and oat plants are bundled together and tied with a ribbon or a bow. They add color and contrast to any decorative design.
Local Honey, Amish Jams, Applebutter
For years at Gust Brothers, we have sold local honey, assorted jams, and apple butter. In 2009, we began selling some of our own honey, produced by bees that pollinated our pumpkin plants. Local honey has been reported to have a positive impact on allergies. The jam and apple-butter (and some honey) comes from Walnut Creek Foods.
Wreaths and Crafts
Selling wreaths and crafts at Gust Brothers has increased from the company's beginnings in 1989. These decorations are a great way to add color to any display.
